Step 3

Dimentions

Step 3 of 7

Enter the box dimensions (mm)

Enter the dimensions of the assembled box in millimeters (mm). These are the dimensions of the finished 3D box, not the flat dieline. If fit is critical, inside dimensions are usually best—just note “inside” in Step 6.

Tight-fit packaging

If your product must fit precisely (cosmetics bottle, glass, pump, multiple parts), use inside dimensions and allow realistic clearance. Tight-fit custom packaging often needs small tolerances to avoid scuffing, snagging, or packing friction.

Multi-item set

For sets (2+ items), enter the outer box dimensions, then describe the inside layout in Step 6 (e.g., “2 items side-by-side”, “stacked”, “needs divider/insert”). This helps spec an insert and prevents a box that looks right on paper but doesn’t pack well.

  • Entering the flat dieline size instead of assembled box size

  • Swapping width/length between Box tabs

  • Forgetting space for inserts, padding, or closing tolerances
